Get ready to celebrate the 46th Annual National Shrimp Festival beginning tomorrow morning at 10:00 AM. If you’re worried about transportation or parking, why not catch one of the shuttles? For schedules and pickups you can get all the details by going here: Parking and Shuttles.

Several designations have been set aside and shuttles run every 15 minutes. The Erie Meyer Civic Center, Pelican Place, Pier 33, Waves Grocery, Gulf State Park, Flora-Bama, and The Wharf are all providing service to the event from Thursday 10:00 AM until Saturday 10:00PM and for Sunday 10:00 Am until 5:00 PM.

Shuttle service will cost $5.00 per passenger for an all day pass and the weekend transit pass for all 4 days will cost $15.00. Save $5 and get the weekend pass!

The Shrimp Festival is free to everyone with live music all day and night featuring local and national talent. They even have a worship service on Sunday at 10:00 AM. Some of the talent featured includes Dr. Zarr’s Amazing Funk Monster, The Tip Tops, Slide Bayou and David Chastang and the New Found.

For the up and coming talent, Singing for Scholarships will award the top three winning participants from several local high schools performing on the East Stage on Saturday beginning at 10:00 AM.

The kids will have plenty to keep them busy with the Children’s Activity Village. With games, arts and crafts designed specifically for them, the whole family will enjoy the many displays. This year will hold the very first Little Miss Shrimp Festival pageant with winners in their age catagories announced on Saturday at 11:00 AM.

Grab your buckets and shovels for the Sand Sculpture Contest on the West end of the public beach access. Building begins at 11:00 AM on Saturday, make sure to register in time. You could be the lucky one to win the $100 cash prize.

There’s too many arts and craft vendors to mention as well as the Fine Art category. A Retail Marketplace also includes items from local businesses. Be sure to get your 2017 Annual National Shrimp Festival T-Shirt before they are sold out.

Many of the roadways will be closed and traffic diverted for visitors to have easy walking access. Parking can be found closer to the event but costs will vary. For up-to-date information on road closures, you can find that information here, Gulf Shores Road Closures.
